The Trial of the Century

Everyone is getting ready for Garreth's trial. I don't know that it's really going to be so much of a "trial" as just trying to convince enough Gods not to kill him. There aren't laws or anything and there's no objecting when people get out of line.

This is really gunna test the social characters to see what they can do. Oh, and Garreth of course, to see if he can bend far enough to make his Pantheon think he's more than just a crazy, dangerous lunatic.

Now, some of you may be asking: Did I push Garreth into this situation to punish him? No. Not really. I did push him into this situation to force some growth, though. He's set himself up in an incredibly vulnerable position. He doesn't have any allies among his Pantheon. None of the Dodekatheon have any reason to like him that much, since he thinks very lowly of them and makes no secret of it.

If a good, loyal, Gods-Fearing Scion had done what Garreth did, for the reasons he did it, there would probably not be a trail. There'd be a Stern Warning not to mess around with Titans because they're dangerous. However, Garreth hasn't got the support from Up High that would require.

It also doesn't help that his Bandmate Johnny has made a poor impression on Ares by bending over for a chance at Aphrodite's bed. It further doesn't help that when confronted by a Titan, Garreth made no plans to even mention the event to anyone in authority.

He isolated himself from his Pantheon and likes it that way. Now, that weakness is going to be a problem for him. Will he survive it? That.. really depends on if his friends can pull him through it. This is going to take the entire Band to get past, even if some of them don't know they'll be needed.

I think some of my players are going to be surprised when they meet a few of the Dodekatheon and see how the votes go. Let's hope they can sway enough fence-sitters. Check back on Monday for the results of the Trial and Garreth's Final Fate!
