The Misadventures of Johnny Easter

Someone on the Forums was asking about Johnny and how his relationship with Lugh went. Anyone that wants the whole story can read Johnny's journal, but it's long as all hell.

So, I am going to outline what's happened between Johnny and Lugh here. It all started out as a classic case of Jock Dad vs Artistic Son. Johnny wanted to be a musician and Lugh wanted him to be a warrior. Their arguments progressed from disagreement, to yelling, to threats and finally to full-on impalement. Johnny broke his ties with Lugh and opened himself up for a world of hurt in return.

Johnny was a unhappy kid. His mother wanted him to be a priest, and his father wanted him to be a lawyer. His father hated Johnny's love for music. Johnny's father did things like destroy Johnny's instruments, burn his sheet music, anything to make his son stop being so focused on his "damn music".

Johnny, after running away nine times, left for good. Moving to Atlanta, away from his family and friends. There, he met Lugh.

Hearing that Kevin (mortal dad) was not his father, made Johnny ecstatic. That he was something above and beyond other people only made him happier. Lugh told Johnny that he had been given CuChulain's fate. Not the best one to have. He also gave Johnny, the wimp, the Gae Bolga to try to inspire him.

Johnny took this in stride, and, while being vaguely annoyed at his father on learning that this is not something that can happen, kept trying to be something Lugh could be proud of: the first Bard in God knows when. Johnny was great at being a bard.... but Lugh did not want him to be one. Lugh wanted a warrior like the favored son, CuChulain.

Johnny's Demigod Visitation ended with Lugh threatening to kill him, and yelling on both parts. It started when Johnny tried to return his brother's spear. Lugh took it poorly and decided that Johnny was not grateful (he was returning it because he thought someone else could put it to more use).

The Dia shoved this into the back of his mind and moved on, until he met his dreaded brother: The Hound of Ulster. Who turned out to be a pretty chill dude. CuChulain set Johnny up to getting his soul reshaped by one of the Shen who owed him a favor. Johnny was very grateful for this, and he decided that maybe being one of the Tuatha De Danann was an alright thing. About an hour later, Lugh showed up, screamed at Johnny for even considering changing from the path that Lugh had strong-armed him into walking, and when Johnny called him out for being a bad father, impaled his son and left him to die.

An NPC, Igor, was fetched by Artan, Johnny's loyal (although he does eat bits of Johnny sometimes) dog. Igor brought the Dia back from the brink of death, but could not heal the scarring. Johnny could not move his right arm, and had already lost his left. Johnny could not easily play any instrument again. Igor told Johnny about how a Scion can break the connection with their Divine parent by destroying the Birthrights they have been given in a ceremony large enough to attract the eyes of Fate. On public TV, Johnny called Lugh out for being a bad father, and destroyed his Relics by feeding them to Boris' massive three headed dragon. The connection was severed; Johnny did not have a father any more.

Johnny continued on to have his soul reshaped, and is now hunted across the globe by four Demigods. One of them is a former brother; the last shred of family Johnny had.

The up and coming God of Youthful Rebellion is always on the run from his family. If you can't tell, Johnny has a very hard life, and it enjoys makings itself harder for the poor Demigod trying to endure it.

Just gotta hope he can survive Lugh, his hunters, and the Titans.
